The advice to finish a piece first and then edit is really good advice because working the same section over and over often keeps a person from finishing.

My feedback here would be to watch verb tenses. You shift from past to present and back to past.

Also, check spelling and grammar.

And, make sure that everything pertains to the story. Sometimes, long conversations and details that are just a person's daily routine can be trimmed to make a story flow better.
