Confidence. Yes, an excellent point. Admitting that you aren't sure if you are getting what you want across and feeling unsure are pretty normal feelings but if someone presents it like, "I know this sucks..." it doesn't inspire people to go and have a look at the work.
I also get turned off by, "I just kind of threw this together". That one makes me anticipate a lack of basic spell check usage and proper capitalization.
