As a writer, when you are looking for places/sites to submit your work to, what do you look for?
Is it name value; is it an actual printed publication as opposed to electronic only; is it something else?
In terms of payment do you only look for sites that pay you for your work and, if so, is there a minimum that you would accept (for example I know sites that make a ‘token’ payment of $1) or are you happy with the ‘prestige’ of your work being chosen in the first place? Would recompense that isn’t financial (so, a piece of art, for example) count as payment?
Do you look for open submission sites or do you prefer ones that focus on a specific genre or theme – or even sites that run different genres/themes regularly?
Thanks in advance for helping me by answering these questions!
