But, anyways, I want to give a story away to a friend as something to cherish. I'm going to put the prologue in now and then I'm going to revise it until it's where I want it to be.

Okay Prologue time! Please send constructive criticism!

Thanks ever so so so so so so so so so so so so so so much!

Please let me know if asking for critiques is not allowed here.

May 2006 is when I first laid eyes upon you, do you remember that? I was fifteen at the time, a freshman in high school.

We did not say much that first meeting, just a simple wave of the hand. I was too nervous, too shy, for a full conversation--so I waved. That was three years ago this coming mid-May.

I talked to Chris about you the first time I saw you. When he mentioned that you had problems, I wanted to help but didn’t know how. When the second year came around, I found out that you were no fallen angel--I was. And you were there.

The third time I could feel the barriers between us. “Do you remember him?,” I heard Chris ask me. I smiled, nodded and turned my head towards you to find that you had vanished.

Now, another year is fast approaching us and I always wonder around this time of year--will I ever see you again?

I hope so. I’d just about do anything to see you again and tell you how I really feel. I hope you don’t run away.

Mecha verse | WIP | rated PG | 2500 words.

A short original story for [livejournal.com profile] nekopyo, who develops the most awesome mechas this side of the the sci-fi genre. I aim only to emulate. His prompt was original 'verse, military-centric, hang the word count. Thought y'all might be interested. :D Crit &c. very welcome. Enjoy!

It started as a typical overnight trip, just dead hours whiled away freezing their asses off inside a transport truck, the last one in a long line driving into the Russian night, everyone cranky from lack of sleep and the cold.
