Hey everyone. I need some help with a plot point for my novel.
I have my main character opening the book by killing a man, but I'm not sure of the exact circumstances. It needs to be for a reason not objectively right, but necessary to protect a person or persons close to her. This guy has to somehow pose a threat, but can't be doing anything inherently evil (or at least nothing bad enough to deserve death). It's basically a 'him or them' scenario. She may have known him for a long time, or only just met him. Also, the threat he poses doesn't necessarily have to be on their lives, but if not it would have to be something of similar gravity.
Can anyone help? :D
