Ok here is Chapter Three of my story, I specifically would love critique on the dialogue since it feels a little awkward to me but of course comments and critique's on the whole thing are welcome and wanted!

Favourite Monsters

This year will be my first attempt at Nano. At the moment I have a rough outline of the story, but before I flesh-it-out any further, I would like to hear about your favourite out-of-the-ordinary monsters/beasts/and creatures. By this I mean monsters/beasts/and creatures other than the usual Elves and Dwarves etc.

If it helps, I plan on writing the first novel of a traditional quest series. Throughout the series the characters must defeat seven dangerous monsters, which is a bit like the Deltora Quest series except without the magical gemstones etc. At the moment I plan on using a Gregon, a Siren, a Dragon (just for some familiarity), and a Lamia, and possiblely a Mandrake or a Gryffin -I'm still not sure on the last two. So any sort of  monsters/beasts/and creatures along these lines would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.
