That sounds like a handy tool! If I was smart I'd get one started.
My notes are chaotic at best. I have a large notebook i randomly write things into. Some pages are semi organised, but most of the time I'm scribbling things next to characters names etc. It's not the best set-up, but it mirrors my brain almost perfectly ;)
I tend to just write, fill in rough details and then correct it all when I'm editing. I hate having to stop to get information, ruins my concentration. But maaaaaaybe if it was all at the side for me I would have an easier time of editing later!
