Hello all! Like you, I'm an avid reader and writer. I mainly write in the fantasy/adventure genre, and am working on an online serial at the moment called Above Ground (freely available). What I like about writing webserials is it's the ultimate in getting feedback immediately for what is, in the end, a first draft.
Anyway. I wanted to ask you all a question: what are your techniques for overcoming writer's block?

Date: 2009-07-27 01:47 am (UTC)I give myself 1/2 hour to type up a memory, using as much detail as I can recall. I don't use dialog at all, and the rule is you can't go back and edit. Just write !

Date: 2009-07-27 02:11 am (UTC)I posted one of the ones I wrote recently here in the group. When I wrote that one I was very frustrated because my daughter was at school and I had the entire day to myself. I wanted to write, but nothing was coming to me.
