I personally find that when I've found the right music for the moment it's easier to get into a good flow. I try to match the music I listen to with what I'm writing at the moment - fast paced music for action sequences etc. Instrumental music works best, but sometimes music with lyrics is the only thing that will do it.

Do you also take help from music in this way? What do you usually listen to?

I usually don't listen to music when I write. But when I find a good song that goes with the characters, actions, sences, etc. I buy it and listen to it for insperation... a lot. I know like every verse of every song that goes with my story. heh, heh. The music I listen 2 usually depends on what the feel of the story is. sometimes i find loud, rock, 'i'm over you and have moved on' music and sometimes if finds soft, sweet, 'i still love you but i accept ur choice' music. so it veries.
