Fonts?

This popped into my head today and it struck me as pretty odd. For those of you who type your stories, do you find that the font affects your writing? If so, why do you think that is? Is it because one font is familiar, or you like the style? I find that I don't write particularly well in Times New Roman; I don't know if it's coincidence so take that as you will.

Do you always make sure you write in Courier New for that "typewriter" feel? Or do you like the fancy cursive fonts? Discuss!

I normally write in Verdana (size 11) because I find it a very natural, easy to read, font. When I am satisfied with the piece, and if it is for submission, I change it to Courier New (size 12).

My font of choice is actually Times New Roman. 12 pt. I guess it's because that's what I'm used to. For school, that's all I've ever written in, so it looks natural to me. I personally don't like Courier. If I have to, I can write in Arial. But I really try to stay away from anything other than TNR.

I write in TNR also, size 12. I find it the easiest to read.

They do affect, I think. I cant write in Times New Roman either. Nor in Courier New. I like the Arial-looking things.

Weird, isnt it. But I think the brain's very susceptible to all kinds of inputs, visual and otherwise. And fonts staring back at you whilst you're writing, well, I need something that at least doesnt attack my eyes :).

I use Arial for my writing. I can write in others, but it just works the best for me and is what I'm used to. Once it's done, then I convert it to another font.

I prefer Arial or Tahoma when I'm writing for fun, and Times New Roman for important stuff

I always write in Times New Roman or in Courier, because that's what the manuscript must be submitted in.

I write in Times New Roman, size 12, because I'm used to it.
Once I had to change the font for a competition and converted it looked so... strange... unnatural...
But it had one great effect: Because it lookes so strange to me, I could see mistakes a lot easier! So I think for editing-stuff I will change my texts into another font.

I use Times New Roman, since I'm used to it for school. Though I will do chapter titles and story titles in more interesting fonts. I'm especially fond of Mr Saturn for titles to humor stories.

It's the font that is used in the video game Earthbound whenever a Mr Saturn would talk. It has a rather quirky appearance.

I don't think the font affects my writing at all -- I can write in just about anything short of wingdings -- but I do prefer Garamond, which is what I do most of my writing in.

When submitting things, I look up the requested formatting and adjust my piece to it.

I suffer from the horrid delusional that I'm going to finish all my pieces. Except for adding in my last name and the page number, I write in standard manuscript format. 12, Courier new, double spaced. Call it optimistic or call it being overtly headstrong, it is what I do.

Not to mention, using a double spaced, monospaced font makes me feel like I'm writing more than I really am, which is nice.

Well depending on the length of a story or if I'm looking back a lot, I will sometimes single space for the sake of making it easier on myself, and then get the nice shock of more pages when it is finally done and I switch back the spacing.

I find I write loads regardless, I don't want to threaten myself into the territory that I write a novel that seems just right, then courier new it and double space, and realize it is too long to be published, especially from a first time author.
