Have you ever thought of creating a blog for a fictional character/s and using that blog to tell their stories? I've been wanting to do this ever since I heard that the characters from the Brittish drama Skins have their own MySpace page. I think that this would be a fun way to get to know your characters. The problem is I'm not sure what would be the best site to use. I'm not a big fan of MySpace and although LJ is my favorite blog site I would like a site where I would be able to create a series of blogs anonymously (and preferably by using the same username) so that you couldn't tell that the blogs were fictional. Is there a way this can be done?

Not sure, but the idea that springs to mind is just creating a whole new LJ account and journal for them. There'd be no way of linking them to your current journal?

Yeah but then I would have to create multiple LJ accounts because it would be obvious that the journals were fictional if they were all created by the same person.

That's what I meant, so each character has their own account and username.

I actually just started doing this myself several days ago. I am almost finished with my first novel (the first in, probably, a trilogy) but the characters are so near and dear to my heart that I decided to create a journal for them. I have one journal (on LJ) for all of them. And I just label each post with the speaker. I have only written one post per character so far (there are 3 main characters), but it has actually been very helpful.

I've also found that a good way to get to know my character is to write "alternate scenes." I took my story one way but thought it might be interesting to see how it would have panned out if it had gone a different way. That has also been very useful and I've actually gotten several ideas for my story by doing that.
