hi everyone,

im doing nano and in my story theres a place that i originally named Deaths Valley, but then i read a really good book that had that place name and when i googled it i found that theres alot of places named that(i realise that the name would be common) so i re named it Deaths Glen.

I dont mind either name i just need help picking one, any opinion would be greatly taken

I think that would depend on a lot of things. Such as where your story is set (the United States, Europe, a fantasy world) and whether this is actually the name of a geological feature or, say, a town.

I tend to think that glen is too soft a word if you want it to sound ominous or dangerous.

And I also don't think you're going to be able to avoid reminding people of Death Valley (or the Bible's "valley of death") so long as you stick with the formula of: Death *synonym for valley*.

What about 'Death's Combe'? This has the same caveats as [livejournal.com profile] starlight83 says above, but I thought I'd just throw it in there.
