I scoured the community userinfo for some guidelines on how I ought to write up an introductory post, didn't see anything, and decided just to get right to it. If I've bungled it up somehow just fuss at me and I'll either fix it or go weep in a corner.

Hello! I'm one of many aspiring high fantasy authors hunting for an existing writer's circle to squeeze my way into. The project I've been working on for the past few months consumes my thoughts completely, but I'm so easily bogged down by doubt and indecision that of the ~17k I've got now, I'm happy with maybe ~4k of it. Maybe that's normal. That's probably normal, right? Right? Help I am drowning in je ne sais quoi.

Anyway, if you've got a discerning eye for fantasy fiction, I'd like to talk to you more and hopefully offer some constructive criticism of my own if you've got work to share.

You did just fine with your intro post. Welcome! *waves* There aren't any particular guidelines for intro posts, people can do them or not, it's all good. :-)

There are a bunch of us here who write and read high fantasy.

Congrats on the 17k! Yes, the indecision is normal. Sometimes you just have to press through it to see what sticks and then learn that the things that don't work can be fixed later if necessary.
