Oh, help!

I've been struggling horribly these past few weeks with an assignment I've set myself. I know that writing in dialect either turns out great or utterly horrible (usually the latter), but I've been trying to write a Louisianian (?) accent. The problem is, I don't know what it sounds like (apart from Hollywood's interpretation, and we all know how accurate Hollywood tends to be)! It feels like I've looked everywhere online (though I know I haven't), and can't find a real Louisiana accent clip. I don't even know if the Cajun accent extends throughout the whole state or not. Short of just dialing a random number in the Louisiana area code and hoping someone picks up, I don't know what to do. So please, if you've got tips, or even better, links, please let me know! Thanks.

So the bottle lands on these two girls and they get off with each other. Great, c'mon! Girl and girl. More shots get passed around. We get drunker.

The bottle lands on you. Your heart starts pumping. You're absolutely terrified. And they spin the bottle again. Who? Who? It's still spinning. You take another shot, just to have something to do with your hands, something to distract attention away from your expression.

Hello! New and All

Hello! So I'm new here and so far I like this community! (Well, not really new, i think I joined last week, but this is my first time posting.)

I had a quick question and I don't even know if anyone can help. I tried google and stuff but I keep missing what I'm looking for.

I'm in the middle of writing a book (for myself right now, but maybe at one point in my life someone will publish it. Lol).

I'm having trouble with word count and set up. A Hardback book has it's pages set up a certain way and I was wondering if anyone knew what those dimensions were?

I'm the kind of person that likes to see how a chapter is coming along, plus I want to make sure that the chapter is not to big or to small. (I hate hate super long chapaters and I don't want to be one of those people that has super long chapters.. lol)

So if anyone can help me that would be great!
