I've updated the guidelines .
First, I've thought about the policy concerning the advertising of other writing communities here and I've decided that I will no longer accept them. I would like to encourage the discussions to take place here rather than have them drawn off to several other places. One of the main purposes of creating
writers_loft was to have and promote writing related discussions here.
Second, Long posts, we haz them. Do not want. (Sorry, LolCat speak strikes again). All work will now go behind an lj-cut. You can post an intro to your piece but the work itself will go behind a cut. If you don't know how to do an lj-cut, ask for help and someone will show you how to create an lj-cut.
Here are the updated guidelines from the Profile page:
+In an effort to encourage writing discussions in this community I will no longer accept requests for adverts for other communities.
+All work must go behind an lj-cut. You may post snippets, scenes or a chapter of your original work in progress (WIP) but you MUST place them behind a cut (this includes poetry).
+Please use lj cuts for kindness. If you post long, stringy lines of poetry or any other long posts that are not hidden behind a cut I will ask you to place the long post behind a cut (I wish I could do it for you but I can't edit your posts for you). If the long post is not placed behind a cut after about 24 hours of me asking, I will delete your post. I hate to have to delete posts but long, uncut posts are not loved by many folks because they make people's Friends List's explode. That said, you are more than welcome to re-post the entry as long as you stash it behind an lj cut.
