Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew of any legit writing contests. I'm not looking for vanity publishing "contest" but ones that are held by pusblishers.
The reason I want to do contests is because it's a great way to get "discovered" and looks good on a query letter. I feel that one of the reasons I keep on getting rejected is because I'm not an estabished writer. Yes, I know it could be other things. I rewrote my query letter and love the way it sounds now. But I noticed that the area where you're supposed to talk about yourself is missing because I have no awards or publications under my belt.
