Fonts?

This popped into my head today and it struck me as pretty odd. For those of you who type your stories, do you find that the font affects your writing? If so, why do you think that is? Is it because one font is familiar, or you like the style? I find that I don't write particularly well in Times New Roman; I don't know if it's coincidence so take that as you will.

Do you always make sure you write in Courier New for that "typewriter" feel? Or do you like the fancy cursive fonts? Discuss!

N00b here

Hello!

I'm a total n00b here.

A small presentation:

Swedish girl with Iranian roots living in Japan with bf. Twenty one years old. I've been writing since around eight (kinda stumbled into it when I wrote essays and couldn't stop thinking about how to describe Fall and crows in the best way). And so English is my third language, and I apologize for not being as good as the rest of you.

So, I also have a problem, obviously. I've been working on a story for half a year now haha
And I've managed to write first half of the first chapter and some stray bits here and there. My computer lost the second half, so I've angsted about it for a while and put it on the shelf. I feel like I'm getting a bit blinded and subjective as to if the story is actually worth it or if it's total and utter crap.

Please do tear apart!
Is it over worked? Under worked? Poor plot line? Badly presented? Bad flow? Throw it at me!
I appreciate if you express any thoughts.

Part four of my ongoing story is on my journal now, yay! It features all my new-found research about sailing and I know I've probably said something wrong or silly or used the wrong word for something. I encourage anyone who knows about sailing to please let me know of any errors, since I basically didn't know what I was saying when I wrote this. :-\

And comments are very welcome. :) Can they please go on my journal as opposed to here? Many thanks!
